FNAIT may cause unborn or newborn babies to bleed into their brain (intracranial haemorrhage) and/or other major organs due to the maternal immune response against fetal platelets caused by incompatibility between parents for platelet-specific antigens.
This may result in fetal/neonatal death or lifelong disabilities e.g. epilepsy, cerebral palsy, cortical blindness, hydrocephalus, motor and cognitive delays, and sensory processing disorders.

Registered in Penzance, Cornwall, United Kingdom, Naitbabies are the only charity for this disease and provide support worldwide. Naitbabies Governing Board trustees are volunteers and do not receive a salary.

Your donation will be used to advance the education of the general public, promote awareness, provide help, practical assistance and provide a strong voice for affected families; we support research into FNAIT, its causes, treatment and prevention and advocate for pre-natal screening!!
