NAIT bear at a platelet donation for a NAIT baby still inside mommy!!
From one mom to another: Sarah Flukinger, right, donated platelets for Patricia Adler’s baby, who will be born via c-section this Friday 20th Oct at Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston. Like Sarah’s two sons, Patricia’s daughter may require platelets due to a genetic disorder, neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia (NAIT). Both of Sarah’s sons received platelets from volunteer donors as infants and are healthy now at ages 2 and 5. Sarah’s donation will ensure that Patty’s daughter has the same bright future!
