Head boy Reuben Brooks runs 10k for Naitbabies in his final year before secondary school
raising over £900!!!!
As Head Boy of his primary school, Reuben has decided that before he leaves for secondary school, he would like to raise money for a charity by running 20 times around his school field. This equates to just over 10K.
Reuben will not run the whole 20 laps in one go. He has given himself 10 school days and will run in his break time, lunch and before or after school to get the laps done. He will start his run on Monday 8th and finish by Friday 19th July.
Reuben has chosen the charity Naitbabies because his sister was diagnosed with Neonatal Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia (NAIT) shortly after she was born in 2012. Fortunately she was strong and following a platelet transfusion at three days old (picture below) she fully recovered and has no lasting health effects.
Other babies are not so fortunate.
